Our Organization
Our most important task in the Student Union is to make sure that the University of Copenhagen respects and take care of our interests as students. This means that we are ensured seats in the most influential bodies at our university. You can meet our student reps or stay and read more about the Student Union.
Subject Council and Study Board
Almost every study program has its own subject council. This is of immense importance because the subject councils represent all students in the study boards. The representatives of the study boards are chosen during the annual Uni Elections in the last week of November. All students at the University of Copenhagen are eligible to vote. The study board consists of student representatives and lecturers at the institute, and together they decide on new curricula. Being part of the study boards gives us the opportunity to improve the quality of our educations and exams. You can find your subject council here.
Faculty Council and Academic Council
Each of the university’s six faculties has its own faculty council where the subject councils meet to work together on all areas that concern the entire faculty. This can be pushing for more for sustainable solutions on campus areas or representing student interests when institutes are merged or split. The faculty councils support the subject councils, and all faculty councils are represented in the Student Union's board. The faculty councils also send representatives to the Academic Council, which is the body in each faculty that is responsible for research, teaching and hiring. Theses representatives are also elected during Uni Election in the last week of November
The Student Union and the University Board
The Student Union is two-sided: On one hand we consist of all the elected student representatives in study boards, academic councils and the board of UCPH, who are elected every November during the university election. On the other hand, we have our internal structure with subject councils, faculty councils, the board and an executive committee. Every October our highest authority, the General Assembly, choose the board who are responsible to set up our day-to-day management – our executive committee, whom you can meet here. The two students who are elected during the university election to sit in the highest authority at the university, the University Board, are also part of The Student Union's own board - meet them here.
