Your Reps
More than 100 students are elected to the democratic bodies of the University of Copenhagen, where they are the voice of students and student-led change. They play an essential role in ensuring that our university offers the best academic experience for students.
The elections for the democratic bodies are held each year in November. In the Uni Elections, students are elected to the Study Boards of your institute, the Academic Councils at faculty level and the Board of the University of Copenhagen.

Study Boards
The Study Boards organize all subjects at the university. The study regulations created by your Study Board organize your courses, determining for example the content of your course and exam forms. Applications for dispensation and merit are reviewed here too.
Candidates for the Study Boards are chosen locally in each subject council.
Academic Councils
The six Academic Councils deal with academic concerns at faculty level – research, education and sharing of scientific results. They assemble academic committees, assess applications for research positions and assign Ph.D. positions and doctorates.

The Board
The Board of University of Copenhagen is the university’s highest authority. Of the 11 members of the board, two are students. Each year one student is elected to sit on the board for a two-year period.
The Student Union's candidate is chosen at our general assembly in October – one month before the Uni Elections. You find our current two board members under Contact Us.
